Due to the inadequate availability of professional counselling, the society had initiated the Family Support Programme to fill this gap. Parents and their children are brought together on a regular basis so that they can get acquainted and share their experiences. Outings and overnight trips are also organized to promote better friendship and fellowship. Invariably, the adults find such meetings therapeutic. As a result, get-together such as these are now arranged at every centre, with participants coming from both the urban and rural areas. A centre hosts, by yearly rotation, a 'jamboree' where delegates from all over the state gather and share their knowledge and provide support to newcomers.
