The Sabah Society for the Deaf is grateful to it's many dedicated volunteers of all ages and provides many opportunities for involvement in SSD.
Volunteering is a great way to further a cause, support an organization, and make a difference in your community. It can also be an opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. If you'd like to give something besides money, consider lending your time and talents to Sabah Society for the Deaf. It is an opportunity to serve.
All sorts of people volunteer for many different reasons, but one thing that unites them all is that they find it challenging, rewarding and varied.
Volunteering can add a great deal to your life and the lives of those for whom you volunteer. It offers you chance to become involved in a project of the organization or with the Deaf community programme and activities.
Tomoko Seno, a Japanese lady, contributed immensely by spending most of her time as a volunteer in caring for and educating deaf children in the Society's Deaf Education Centre from 1998 to 2012 during her stay in Sabah. She has since returned to her country, Japan.
Presently, two other Japanese volunteers helping out at the center Kyoko Kawamura and Chika Munenaga.
